Tim McLellan

Tim McLellan is CEO of Trees for the Future (TREES), where he is leading the organization’s ambition to restore land and unlock prosperity by putting farmers at the center of climate action. Under Tim’s leadership, TREES is evolving its proven regenerative agroforestry approach to drive change at landscape scale – partnering with smallholder farmers to restore degraded land, build stronger farm enterprises, improve livelihoods and generate high-integrity carbon removals. TREES is bringing together philanthropy, business and climate finance to invest in farmers and landscapes for the long term, creating the conditions for both people and nature to thrive. Tim has dedicated his career to building and scaling programs that create lasting social and economic change. Before joining TREES in 2022, he served as Chief Operating Officer at TechnoServe and spent 14 years with Population Services International, including as Regional Director for East Africa and Country Director in Nigeria and India. Tim is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
