Bongo Bacela

Bongolethu Bacela is a seasoned development finance and infrastructure investment professional currently serving as Acting Head: SADC Client Coverage and Origination at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). In this role, he is responsible for originating, structuring, and advancing strategic infrastructure and development projects across South Africa and the broader Southern African region.
With extensive experience in project finance, stakeholder management, and business development, Bongolethu has been actively involved in the development and financing of large-scale infrastructure projects in key sectors such as energy, transport, water, and regional economic integration. His work focuses on mobilising investment, building partnerships between the public and private sectors, and supporting projects that drive sustainable economic growth and social development.
