Anna Schniepper

Anna Schniepper leads jurisdictional engagement and policy at Carbon Standards International AG (CSI), a pioneering standards body that developed the first biochar quality standards and biochar‑based carbon removal methodologies. Her work focuses on aligning carbon dioxide removal (CDR) portfolios with evolving national frameworks, Article 6 mechanisms and CORSIA. She previously worked for a development finance institution in Africa on a broad portfolio of programmes covering infrastructure, green finance and forestry – experience that informs her approach to scalability, safeguards, risk and compliance management. She holds degrees from the University of Freiburg and the University of KwaZulu‑Natal.
