Enoch Makobi

Enoch leads Trees for the Future’s (TREES) work in Uganda, overseeing the delivery and growth of farmer-led regenerative agroforestry programs that restore degraded land, strengthen rural livelihoods and contribute to long-term climate action.
Born and raised on the slopes of Mt. Elgon, Enoch brings more than 15 years of experience working alongside smallholder farmers and rural communities in Uganda. His career has spanned agricultural extension, agribusiness, sustainable land management and integrated landscape approaches, giving him a deep understanding of what it takes to translate ambitious climate and restoration goals into practical action on farms and across landscapes.
As TREES expands its work across the Lake Victoria Watershed, Enoch brings an implementer’s perspective to the development of high-integrity agroforestry carbon projects—connecting the realities of farmer adoption, long-term delivery and community partnership with the requirements of carbon markets.
Enoch holds a BSc in Agricultural Land Use & Management from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Agribusiness, and a Diploma in Project Planning & Management. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends—and putting his agricultural experience to use in his own backyard garden.
